We started Smart Working in 2020 with a simple vision: geographical limitations should not dictate access to talent.

Bootstrapped since day one, Smart Working has now worked with over 150 clients allowing them to scale seamlessly with the right talent.

2021

• We grew our internal team and built up the expertise we required to become leaders in our field.
• Built out our vetting capabilities significantly.
• We successfully provided over 50 developers to clients during 2021.
• Finished the year with 5 star reviews on Trustpilot.

2022

• We reached 50 clients and had 100 developers working for our clients (mostly based in the UK).
• We moved into our Headquarters in London.
• Became a ‘highly regarded’ business on Glassdoor with a rating over 4.9.

2023

• Increased the retention rate of our placed engineers substantially, reflecting improvements in our vetting and our customer success.
• Our headcount in the UK grew by 70%.
• Reduced time to hire for our clients to 7 days.
• By the end of the year we hit 100 clients across the UK and Europe.

2024

• We gained our ISO 27001 certification.
• By the end of the year we were vetting over 30,000 candidates per month with the use of AI.
• We have over 150 clients and our total headcount has reached 400.
• Began building AI engineering solutions for clients.
